Whilst teaching fulltime during the 2020/21 academic year Matthew Bayliss made a worrying discovery. The ongoing disruptions to schooling due to coronavirus meant that most GCSE and A Level students will be under-prepared for the return of public examinations in summer 2022. Furthermore, this problem has evolved in longer term anxiety when younger year groups reach their exam’s in subsequent years.

After many discussions with students/parents/colleagues from around Britain the cause is obvious. There has generally been mediocre remote learning the ~24 months to date, not including the ongoing staff and student absences.

Therefore Matthew decided to combine his 8+ years of private tuition and school teaching, with those of a few select expert colleagues, to address this urgent need by creating Bayliss Tuition.
